Homebuyers' and Renters' Page
Homebuyers:
The Housing Finance Authority of Palm Beach County makes available to qualified first time homebuyers through participating lending institutions the following two loan types to make the purchase of a home more affordable. You must reside in the home as your principle residence. There are certain maximum income and house price limitations that apply. These loans are offered directly through participating lending institutions.
The single family homebuyers program offers two products that provide a 30-year fixed rate mortgage with down payment and closing cost assistance. Borrowers must meet current FHA/VA/RD or Freddie Mac credit underwriting requirements as well as the minimum credit score of the participating lender. The "Own a Home Opportunity Program" offers a soft second mortgage loan of up to $10,000 at 0% interest due upon sale, refinancing, or in 30 years. The "Own a Home Opportunity Grant Program" offers a non-repayable assistance grant and does not have a first-time buyer requirement.
A brief summary of these programs and a list of the lenders can be viewed at the My First Florida Home website.
